Types of Diplomas:

(a) The Regular Diploma shall be awarded to students who: • Earn the specified units of credit • Take the required End of Course Exams

(b) In order to graduate with a Regular Diploma with Honors, students must satisfy all requirements for a regular diploma AND score at or above all of the following ACT subject area readiness benchmarks (or equivalent SAT scores). Acceptable scores may be used from more than one ACT test. English 18 Math 22 Science 23 Reading 22

(c) In order to graduate with a Regular Diploma with Distinction, students must satisfy all requirements for a regular diploma, earn a B average (85 or higher, no rounding), AND complete at least one of the following:

  • Earn a nationally recognized industry certification
  • Participate in at least one of the Governor’s Schools
  • Participate in one of the All State musical organizations
  • Be selected as a National Merit Finalist or Semi-Finalist
  • Attain a composite score of 31 or higher on the ACT OR 1380 or higher on the SAT (Critical Reading + Math)
  • Attain a score of 3 or higher on at least two Advanced Placement exams, prior to the start of senior year (if meeting this requirement, the two exam scores need to be attained by the end of the junior year for diploma purposes)
